ABOUT ORGY:
Spawned by the fertile Los Angeles Alt-metal scene, Orgy adds catchy melodic hooks to the familiar mix of crushingly loud riffs and electronic-tinged production. The original band was formed in late 1997, consisting of vocalist Jay Gordon, guitarist Ryan Shuck, guitar synthesizer Amir Derkah, bassist Paige Haley, and drummer Bobby Hewitt. Orgy became the first band signed to Elementree, owned by well known heavy metal group Korn, a subsidiary of Reprise Records. Their debut album, Candyass, was released in 1998 which featured hits such including a cover of the New Order song “Blue Monday” and “Stitches.” This album also garnered the hit song “Revival” featuring Jonathan Davis from Korn. The album and the success of their singles instantly pushed them into the mainstream, making a mark in the famous era of grunge, alternative rock in the ’90s.

Orgy signed on for tour dates supporting the “Love and Rockets” tour and shows with “Korn's Family Values Tour” the following year fueling their popularity. Their experimental sci-fi sophomore effort Vapor Transmission, hit number 16 on Billboard's Top 200, followed in 2000. In 2002, Jay Gordon and his Dad, Lou Gordon founded their own label, D1 Music where the band ended up signing to that same year. Two years latter they released Punk Statik Paranoias and almost seven years after the release, Jay Gordon sent letters to everyone in the band informing them that he would end the partnership due to everyone working on other solo projects.

In 2011, Gordon decided to reunite the band Orgy, but with completely new members and a completely reinvented sound. The new band now consists of vocalist Jay Gordon, guitarist Carlton Bost, guitar Ashburn Miller, bassist Nic Speck, and drummer Jamie Miller. Currently, the band is on their first tour together, performing at venues across the country. For more information visit www.orgymusic.com.
